Monthly Income Report – January 2014 – My Affiliate Commissons and Adsense Earnings Were Abducted By The Post Holiday Grinch

“The results described here are my own and, therefore, are not typical. Individual results may vary based on a variety of factors.”

Hopefully, these income reports will help motivate and encourage you while you build your passive income streams. They show that you can recover from any pothole on the road to passive income success. Please note the monthly numbers have been adjusted to reflect ANY refunds and expenses thereby leaving only my net profit.

Let’s review January’s income:

Amazon Sales

I really thought my January sales would take a steep dip, but they didn’t. Much to my liking, though. The need for computer repair support and services may not be affected by the typical “post holiday” slip in sales that other markets/fields experience. My sales remained fairly strong and even surpassed last month’s sales. What a pleasant surprise.

January 2014 Amazon Sales Revenue: $1556 (up from last month – Amazon Total Sales – numbers rounded up to the nearest dollar)
January 2014 Total Cost/Expenses: $535 (up from last month – simply put, for now, this my cost for products, packaging, shipping, business-related purchases and any)
January 2014 Amazon Sales Net Profit: $1021 (up from last month)

Below, you will see my upcoming January deposits from Amazon. February 23rd payment reflects sales made for the first two days of the week only – so this will grow as we get closer to the weekend:

jan-2014-amazon-sales

There were seventy-five (75) total orders for the month of January, therefore:

Total Orders = 75 orders (up 6 from December 2013)
$1021 (Total Net Profit)/ 75 orders = $13.61 per order (down from December)

Amazon Affiliate Commissions

My Amazon Affiliate commissions for January took a steep dip as it was affected by the typical “post holiday” sales “blues”. This dip was expected, though.  In January, my total commissions were around $129.06. I received another small commission from a sale tied to one of my new sites. I’m telling you, once SEO work begins on the other new sites, you’re going to see a steady rise in my Amazon Affiliate commissions….and don’t forget, I’m planning to giveaway one, two, three or maybe all four of my new sites soon.

Now, here is what I earned from my niche site, portableswasherdryercombo.com:

Amazon Items Shipped = 34 (down from December)
Amazon Commissions = $129.06 (down from December)
january2014-affiliate-sales

Adsense Earnings = $18.63 (down from December)

january2014-adsense

Total December Earnings From Niche Site = $147.69 (down from December)

Let’s combine them all:

Total Amazon Sales Profit = $1021
Total Amazon Commissions = $129.06
Total Adsense Earnings = $18.63
*Total VA Expense and SEO Expenses = $270
Total January Profit = $898.69 (down from December)

$898.69/750 minutes total (12.5hrs.) = $71.89 per hour (down from last month)

*VA’s (Virtual Assistants) have been helping me with my social media plan while I’ve brought in an SEO team to help with my niche sites and other sites I’m currently working on.

I think it’s interesting that you set goals for even your streams o passive income. This is something I’ve never thought about, but it makes sense. If you’re going to do it, be successful. Right?

I imagine things will pick up now that people are bouncing back from holiday spending and tax refunds are starting to roll in.

Brooke, that’s what I’m hoping for….you know, the Amazon sales stayed steady, but my Adsense and Amazon Commissions that took the hit. “Peaks and Valleys”. It’ll be alright, though.

Thanks for visiting my site Frank. Your presence is much appreciated. I’ve been monitoring your blog and you did well in January, too. You know, I’ve got to see what I can do to get you on one of our podcast as a guest. Would love to have you on the show….let’s touch bases soon.

As for the niche site giveaway….it’s on the way. I’ve got a marketing plan that will be executed soon to help build some excitement around the giveaway. Once that goes into full gear, then the details will be revealed.

    1. How do I enter to win one of the sites?!
    2. How in the world do you get that much from Amazon Affiliates? I made .04 last month… SEO? I’m going to have to scour your site for info on that.
    3. I don’t know if you’ve covered this or not, but can you give me a list of who I can advertise with that I can actually make money? I’m doing Amazon affiliates right now… and I have a godaddy one too.

In due time, this will be revealed….the sites are built, but I want to generate some marketing around the giveaway. Once that plan is in effect, then the details on how to win will be released.

      2. How in the world do you get that much from Amazon Affiliates? I made .04 last month… SEO? I’m going to have to scour your site for info on that.

My site ranks well for several keywords and keyword phrases. And I attack any bad links to my site with the Google disavow tool which is very helpful. People love the reviews and they tend to buy more than one item once they get to Amazon’s site.

      3. I don’t know if you’ve covered this or not, but can you give me a list of who I can advertise with that I can actually make money? I’m doing Amazon affiliates right now… and I have a godaddy one too.

I try to keep it simple…I’m affiliate for only three companies: Amazon, Market Samurai, and Bluehost. That will expand to Longtail Pro soon as I’m loving their keyword research tool.

What do you usually advertise on your sites through Amazon? Which of the tools do you generally use? I have some widgets and some links right now….

      Hi Wilfred,

Thanks for visiting my blog. As for checking if products are out of stock, I try to follow up once every two weeks, but I have to say it’s tedious at best. Even so, checking those links are very important and I’m glad you mentioned it.
