What Can Suck The Life Right Out Of Your Business? You……

Why do we spend so much time trying to pinpoint what makes some people more successful than others? Some of us tend to compare education, credential, certifications, resources and more. In most cases, what separates them, to me, is passion. Have you ever asked yourself “what makes it possible for people who may seem ordinary achieve the extraordinary?” It’s passion.

Nothing can replace passion. Absolutely nothing. There’s no replacement whatsoever for it. Your passion is what feeds your will. Think about it….if you want financial freedom bad enough, you will certainly find the will and a way to get there. Your will builds your level of commitment. Your level of commitment helps you develop the roadmap to your financial freedom.

Refocusing on my passion was the real starting point of my journey to financial freedom. I understood early on that my desire would really determine my destiny. The same can be said for you – the depths of your desire will dictate your potential and, ultimately, your results. Passion is what changed me…it changed my mindset. I stopped caring about what others thought about me and my past failures and I began to concentrate on my passion.  It was my passion that took what seemed to be impossibilities and made them slowly disappear.

Is passion something you have in your life right now? When you wake up in the morning, are you hyped and excited about what lies ahead in the day? Do you look forward to the start of the week or are you known for praying for the weekend to get here? Do you have sleepless nights due your anticipation of the next day?

If passion is not a characteristic in your life, watch out. You can’t expect to reach your financial goals, or any goal for that matter, if you do not have any passion for it. How can you maintain your fire if you never had any to begin with?

Ask yourself, how passionate are you about becoming financially free? How passionate are you about developing multiple streams of income? For those of you that are using your job to finance your business, how passionate are you about going to work every day? Can people see how passionate you are? Try asking your family, friends, and co-workers about your level of desire. Can they see it?

So what do you do if your passion isn’t there?

  • I know when I was struggling with passion, it had a lot to do with circumstances and things taking me off track. Now, I’m not knocking “life’s circumstances” as “life happens”, but I was not concentrating on what made me passionate. I had to refocus and remember the things that I could spend hours upon hours doing. The things that lit my fire…..how could I regain my enthusiasm? I understood that I would need to re-evaluate my life and career based on what I uncovered during my reassessment of what made my passionate. So, refocus on what makes you passionate and write it down.
  • A close confidant also recommended that I start associating with passionate people. When I look back at what he recommended, as corny as his statement was, I see that it was one of the best pieces of advice that I have ever received. You see, passion is “catchy and contagious”. Check it for yourself….start hanging around passionate people and see if it doesn’t rub off on you. You should make it a weekly habit to hang around passionate people. Let their passion get under your skin….you’ll thank them for it.

I totally agree with you here! Passion gets things done. If you’re not passionate enough to want it, then you can’t expect it to happen. Sure there are things that may seem bigger than passion like roadblocks that you encounter but as long as you keep that passion burning up, nothing’s gonna stop you. Your passion to make your situation a whole lot better is your first step in achieving what it is you want, financial-wise or something else.

To be honest, if I let the bad things get to me, I’ll never be able to make it. But I know that this is not all there is for me, there’s gotta be something else, if not more, for me. Can you call that passion? I don’t know. All I know is in every struggle in my life, I always make it a point to get through it. I just keep on thinking that there’s something more I can do. You know when they say that there’s always a rainbow after the rain? I believe that. That’s why I work harder to make sure that I get to see the rainbow.

I always say that passionate people are the ones who know what they want, how to do it, and get exactly what they want. Passion’s what drives them to do what seems to be impossible for people who don’t have it. I also like the part where you said to surround yourself with passionate people. I couldn’t agree more. If the people you hang out with are not driven by anything in life, it will be easy for them to pull you down with them. I’m really liking your blog, Dave! I feel like I’m always learning something new.
